The United States is at a critical point for putting in place affordable housing options, accessibility features, and in-home care services that will be needed as the older population surges over the next two decades. Those aged 65 and older are expected to rise from 48 million to 79 million over the next 20 years, and increasing a home’s accessibility features could help provide those with disabilities more independence and allow them to stay in their homes longer.
