Huntington Central Park is one of the top attractions in the city featuring 356-acres of park space. It’s Huntington City’s top outdoor recreation destination beyond the beach. You’ll discover an urban oasis of broad lawns, lakes, and a plethora of trees.

There’s amenities at the park that make it even more special for visitors and locals including the equestrian center, the nature center, the sports complex and the disc golf course. About Huntington Central Park
The park features an Urban Forest, a tranquil area of the park with native California trees and plants. It’s a natural retreat for those that want to leisurely walk and explore the trails, do bird-watching and see wildlife and butterflies.
There is a Dog Park for your four-legged pets that want to explore and meet other dogs. There are two areas so that smaller dogs and larger dogs can stay separated. You can sit while your dog explores and there are snacks available.
You can enjoy lunch or breakfast at the Park Bench Café in the park as well as Kathy May’s Lakeview Café. The Park Bench Café features menu items for your dog as well. After lunch, head over to the Huntington Central Library or the Central Park Amphitheater. They host annual events that are free to the public like the annual Easter Hunt and the Sunday Concert series.
Major Amenities
Most people come to the park for the Shipley Nature Center, the Huntington Central Park Equestrian Center and the Disc Golf Course. Enjoy horseback riding lessons or explore the natural habitats of the Nature Center. Disc golf is a 5,600 yard layout with gear available for renting.
Finally, take the little ones to the Adventure Playground in the summer where kids can float on a raft in the pond or build a fort.
