Tis’ the season to enjoy Christmas by the beach as the Newport Harbor comes alive during its 105th annual boat parade. The theme this year, “Rockin’ around the Christmas Tree,” has homes, yachts, docks and landscapes transformed into enchanting, holiday wonderlands. Thousands of lights will illuminate the harbor as Christmas floats wind their way around the docks, restaurants and residences. Join in on the fun with a holiday cruise, bundle up on the beach, or get cozy at your choice of eatery on the water.
This premier Southern California event takes place December 18th-22nd starting off at Bay Island at 6:30pm and ending in the same place at 9:00pm.
Feel the joyous spirit of the season as it sails across the sea in this year’s 37th annual Dana Point Harbor Boat Parade of Lights. Boaters from all around Orange County gather and decorate their crafts to contend for awards. These are given to those who have the best use of lights, theme, color and animation. Other awards are handed out for finest sailboat, power boat, and most original. And let’s not forget the continuing competition amongst yacht clubs for the most entries! So come down to the water’s edge and enjoy the sights, lights, and sounds. There are plenty of warm and cozy spots in the restaurants of the harbor to view the parade.
