corona del mar homesCorona Del Mar is technically part of the city of Newport Beach, but long-term residents—many of them having lived here for most of their lives—often will prefer to think of the Corona Del Mar area as particularly distinctive and unique. Supporting this notion, Corona Del Mar even has its own Chamber of Commerce, separate from Newport Beach. However, the community does have a representative member in the Newport Beach City Council, and Corona Del Mar does receive its municipal services from the City of Newport Beach.

Schools By Corona Del Mar Homes

Corona Del Mar's public educational needs are served by the Newport-Mesa Union School District (or NMUSD).  There is one high school in Corona Del Mar, the excellent and highly-ranked Corona Del Mar High School. Newport Harbor High School is also located in Newport Beach, however, and students attending public high school will likely attend one of these two options.  One interesting element of the education for students in Corona Del Mar is that Corona Del Mar High School provides instruction for more than the traditional 9th through 12th grades of high school.  The school also covers the 7th and 8th grade, which are normally covered at a middle school.  This is very convenient for families with children of the ages that would attend both high school and middle school.

Other middle students may attend Horace Ensign Middle School in greater Newport Beach. The elementary school options for younger children in Corona Del Mar are likewise of high quality. Abraham Lincoln Elementary, Everett A. Rea Elementary, and Harbor View Elementary are located in Corona Del Mar, while Newport Elementary, Ray O. Andersen Elementary, Newport Heights Elementary, Newport Coast Elementary, East Bluff Elementary, and Mariners Elementary are located in Newport Beach. In addition to all of these public options, there are a variety of private schools in the area available for children from pre-K through the high school years.  These vary from religious programs to private schools such as Montessori programs, and there is truly something to meet the needs of almost any family from an educational standpoint.
