Laguna Beach is known for its laidback atmosphere and wonderful beach life. Visitors to Laguna don’t realize that the area actually has so much more to offer. The beaches in Laguna’s city limits are open all year as early as 5am and stay open until 1am. You can surf, lay out to get your tan or just walk along the shore. Along with the beaches in Laguna Beach, you should also consider many of the other outdoor activities offered in town. Here is a look at what you can outdoors besides the beach.
If you need some exercise, why not try outdoor yoga? Skip the indoor studio and try yoga in the park or at the beach.
If yoga isn’t your thing, try skim, stand-up paddle or surf lessons at the beach. It’ll give you something new to do at the beach outside of working on your tan. You could even try beach volleyball with friends, go snorkeling or take diving lessons.
Another idea is to try some of the hiking trails around town. Hiking paths and climb trails are more prevalent than streets. You can go with a mountain biking adventure company or just try the walking tours with your friends. Stop at one of the beautiful parks while you’re out. These are great ways to stay active outside in Laguna Beach while having a great time.
Try one of the excellent local coffee shops. It’s a great place to catch up with friends and is perfect for those rainy days when the beach doesn’t sound as pleasant. You can grab a cup of joe at Laguna Coffee Company, Coffee Pub, Koffee Klatch or Starbucks.
Looking for some excitement? Try a live concert at the park or a festival. You’ll find events like the Sawdust Art Festival and the Festival of Arts in Laguna Canyon. On Thursdays you can try the “First Thursday’s Art Walk.” Other walking tours allow you to try food, enjoy historical trivia and architecture.
Sometimes there are outdoor movie nights in town as well.
