The Ocean Institute is one of the top attractions in Dana Point. It's nationally known for the hands-on education provided in marine science. With many programs, such as the ocean education program and the maritime history program, this is one of the best places for students from kindergarten to 12th grade to go for learning about the ocean.

The Institute has won 61 awards for their immersion style programs. With about 115,000 students and 8,000 teachers visiting every year, the Institute is able to teach many about oceanography, the creatures of the sea, science and more. Parks are the perfect way to spend some family time together. Kids can enjoy the activities that are available, while parents interact with them. So many memories are made when swinging, and racing to get to the slide. All of San Clemente parks are accessible between 6:00 am to 10:00 pm.

Theater

Port Theater is Orange County’s premiere luxury theater that first opened in September 1949. It was once the most happening settings in Corona del Mar before Fashion Island and John Wayne Airport had opened. It was a place that allowed you to bring food in, smoke inside and tickets were under $2.

The young and the old found the Port Theater enjoyable at this time and when more multiplex theaters began opening up, the business was forced to recreate itself. Ownership was transferred and movies were more artistic selections but the theater closed in 1998 due to financial struggles. Here is a look at what’s happened since reopening in 2012.

It is said that every community needs a heart. That is exactly what Casa Romantica is to the Southern Orange County area. Many even refer to it as a historic treasure.

It was built back in 1927 by its original owner, Ole Hanson. He built it so his family could have a beautiful place to live. It was his idea of living the California dream. This home consisted of 7 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms.

Over the years the home had several different owners. It wasn't until 1946, when Lambert and Patricia Schuyler purchased the home, that it was named the Casa Romantica. In 1991 it was listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.
