Upcoming Events in Newport Beach for the Holidays

Christmas EventsIt’s that time of year when everyone is starting to celebrate the holiday season. Newport Beach is no exception because they’ve planned some excellent events for the upcoming holidays. Starting in mid-November, you can enjoy tree lightings, followed by Christmas festivities through December. Here are the events you can enjoy at Newport Beach.

Fashion Island Annual Holiday Tree Lighting

Mickey Mouse & Friends from the Disneyland Resort will be hosting the Fashion Island Annual Holiday Tree Lighting. On November 14th and 15th at 6pm head over to Fashion Island at Newport Beach to check out the huge Christmas tree lighting event.

Go to the Bloomingdale’s Courtyard for the event to see performances and lighting of the 90-foot tree. In addition, you can enjoy Disney holiday music and glittering lights every night from the 16th until January 4th at 5pm.

Lighting of the Bay

On Thanksgiving weekend, check out the Lighting of the Bay at the Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort in Newport Beach. It’ll take place on November 29th from 1pm-8pm. There will be a special guest appearance during the light switch flipping. While you’re there, check out Polar Paradise Ice Village with 30 tons of snow, 4 sled hills, train ride and a photo op with Santa. They’ll also have live performances by high school choirs, a movie screening of The Polar Express with s’mores and a food and spirit garden.

Christmas at the Beach

December 6th will bring Christmas at the Beach to Newport Beach from 2pm-6pm. It’s a great way to kick off Christmas with a free horse-drawn wagon ride, cookie decorating, a tree lighting ceremony and live music. You can meet Santa, enjoy holiday movies and the dog sled parade.

Corona del Mar Christmas Walk

On December 7th, join the Corona del Mar Christmas Walk with thousands of other people. You’ll enjoy food, prizes, games and entertainment. There will be 12 bands, restaurant tastings, bouncy houses, petting zoo and a beer & wine garden.

Enjoy the holiday season around Newport Beach starting in mid-November.
